Baby Knitting

Knitting for baby.  Not that you thought this post would show a baby actually knitting.  LOL!

I finished a bonnet to go with the sweater I made two weeks ago for Michael (my grandson who is due on November 9).

The yarn is 100% Alpaca.  It so warm and soft!  I found the pattern on Ravelry or maybe on Pinterest.  I don't quite remember.  It's called Fresh by Kylie McDonnell-Wade and can be found on likepurlsoffastring.wordpress.com.  I think it took me about six hours to knit.

I started another bonnet last night and realized this morning that I had a serious mistake about 10 rows back and that it was off-gauge so I ripped it out and started over on size 3 needles.  The pattern is called BabyDROPS 18-12 by Drops Design and can be found on Ravelry.

I've only gotten through three pattern repeats which is approx 2 1/2 to 3 inches in length.  I'm using Berroco Vintage DK in white.  Here's the photo from their website.

Here's my photo.  I added a medium green ribbon tie threaded through the eyelets at the neck.

A sweater I finished yesterday.  Same yarn as for the white lace bonnet.

Love, love, love the baby bonnets.
You will post photos of baby.

The boxes are cherry and the spalted wood came from a dead orange tree from the Florida house.
Don't know the variety of orange tree...the spalted bit is just a slice of dead tree.

I'm trying to decide if I should use the blue ribbon for this bonnet or go with white. My mom thinks I should use a more boyish ribbon. :)

Whatever the wood those boxes Jim made are abfab.
