Drops 73-6 by Drops Design

It's almost been a year since I started this summer vest/top.  I bought more yarn last week and thought it best to finish one project before starting something else.  :)   My husband always asks why I don't finish more projects.  It's because I get bored and want to move on to something else.

I finished the front section which was half way done and then started on the back.  Here's how it's looking so far.

It's not perfect.  I have had a very difficult time following the lace pattern only because there are so many notes and references to lace pattern 1 (which was not included on the pattern) so I went with lace pattern 2 and 3.  OY!  I will be happy to have it done and don't think anyone besides me will really notice.

EEK!  After looking at the back compared to the two side pieces I've noticed that the back is not long enough which means I have to rip back and continue in pattern before starting underarm decreases.  Crying many tears here.  Many.

Summer Sewing

I finished up two quick sewing projects this past weekend while Phil was out training dogs.  Today he's out at a NAVHDA field test with one of our puppies.  I have plans to get the sewing machine out again today.  Yesterday I made valance curtains for my daughter in law's home.  I should have taken photos but I didn't.

The first project is for grandson Michael.  Vintage seersucker fabric from the thrift store using a vintage pattern from 1972.  Size 12 months.  I added snap tape to the crotch for easy diaper changing and red buttons at the shoulders.

Next is a sunsuit for our bonus granddaughter Beverly.  Again, thrift store fabric using a vintage Butterick pattern.  Size 4.  Half-inch red heart buttons on the straps.
